If you haven’t read the first part of this series go here to read it.
This blog post is all about “your own way”. In order to manage your time more efficiently, you will have to find the best way of working for you.
Everyone will have a preference of working: Where, when, how etc. So find the time that you are most productive. Some people are a morning person, some an evening person. Even though you might think you know which one you are, play around with it and see what really works for you. Sometimes you have circumstances that won’t let you do your stuff in the morning (you might have kids).
The other thing that I already mentioned in the first part is having a routine. Have slots in every week at the same day, the same time for the same topic.
One method I love is Mind Mapping. I use that for planning, prioritising and structuring my tasks. Try it out and see if it works for you. You can read more about mind mapping in Tony Buzan’s books.
Find out your own style: What works best for you? Again, you might prefer having everything digitally. Or you might prefer actual paper. You might want to work outside rather than inside. You might prefer bullet points instead of mind mapping. Try a few different things and see what makes you more productive.
The last thing I want to mention is having a diary. No matter if it is digital or a physical one, you should have a diary to keep track of your appointments and set reminders.
The next blog post will be about efficiency.
