Today I want to give another start-up to share his story. He built the brand ‘Realising my dreams’. Here are the links to connect with him:
Hi There. My name is Nnanna Obasi (really unique, ha!) I like to design clothes, create cartoon characters and continuously think unique new concepts.
My business is a fashion brand that revolves around encapsulating the feeling of finally achieving something which you have always envisaged.
For instance the main, current, character is based around how I felt at the time and even how I currently feel a little bit now. Less so though. It is about knowing what you want to achieve, feeling the energy of it, and knowing that is where you’re supposed to be but at that point in time feeling so far away from it.
The business was started in the summer of 2013 but due to production of previous companies not being of a high enough standard for me it was only in the winter of 2014 which I would say that the business has really started.
I started this business because I felt as though what RMD stands for is a niche in itself. There are not many fashion brands that portray the energy of what RMD tries to convey. Having a business has almost always been a dream mine and it still feels a little surreal. I really love having my own business because every day is like one big dream for me.
The challenge I would say RMD is facing is filtering through the noise of everything else and trying to create a community of like-minded individuals that are able to act as inspirations to one another as they are striving to realise their dreams.
The thing that separates RMD from other brands is that although it looks great to wear there is a strong undercurrent of what RMD is. It is a sincere brand that looks to act as a constant inspiration to individuals that are striving to realise their dreams; whatever they may be.
