So by now, you have defined your goal and you know how to stay motivated. So how can you break down the goal into milestones and manageable tasks? The way I do it is by brainstorming and then create a mind map.
If you don’t know what a mind map is: It is an overview of tasks put together on one sheet. It allows you to put things in order while you are brainstorming. You can use mind maps for preparing a speech, writing a book or to achieve a goal and define the steps involved.
Write down the goal in the middle of a piece of paper, then start brainstorming which tasks are involved in achieving it. Write down each section around the goal. Then for each section, write down the steps involved for this specific section. I use a software called Xmind to create my mind maps.
It might look something like this (not complete):
When you have done this, go through and prioritise the sections. Then prioritise the tasks within the sections and put realistic dates behind them. Then do it!
Remember: No actions, no achievements.
